When it comes to food I am the first to admit my guilty pleasures one of those being Friendly’s restaurant. Friendlys menu has many options for all to enjoy from children to adults there is something for everyone. I am sure everyone has a favorite but below is a list of the friendly’s choices.
If heading there for breakfast try the:
Huevos Rancheros is a combination of scrambled eggs mixed in with red onions, green and red pepper ablend of cheddar and Monterrey jack cheeses, topped with salsa, tortilla chips and sour cream.
Apple Caramel Walnut Pancakes, these are three fluffy buttermilk pancakes served with hot caramel sauce, fresh apples and a sprinkle of walnuts and whipped topping.
If you are planning to visit and sample their Friendlys menu for lunch or dinner then taste one of the following:
Asian Chicken Salad is blend of grilled chicken breast topped with mandarin oranges, almonds, wonton strips, sesame seeds and mixed greens. Not only is this salad one of my favorites but it is not a guilty pleasure when I ask for dressing on the side.
The Vermonter is one of Friendly’s best burgers; it comes on a Ciabatta roll, big beef burger cooked to your liking with Vermont white cheddar, maple pepper bacon with mayo, lettuce and tomato. This is an indulgence you must try.
New England Fish and Chips This is 5 deep battered pieces of cod fillets are joined by golden fries, coleslaw, tartar sauce and lemon wedges. This make me not miss my British roots as much.
Cranberry Bacon Club, this sandwich embodies what thanksgiving is all about, Thick slices of roasted turkey breast, layered with maple bacon, cranberry honey mustard served on multi-grain cranberry Panettini roll.
Friendly’s for me is all about the ice cream and drinks, if there is one thing that makes me happier is heading to their takeout window and choosing:
Jim Dandy this is 5 scoops of your favorite ice cream, topped with marshmallow, strawberry, or pineapple topping, hot fudge, bananas, sprinkles, walnuts and whipped topping.
Fribble Shakes, whether you choose the thick strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, or coffee shake you will not be disappointed. This is rather a large fountain drink, one that could possibly be shared if you wish.
